Artists in Place: A Bernal Art Walk-By
My studio is located in the Bernal Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. With the onset of the Covid pandemic the art world, along with most everyone else, came to a grinding halt. While respecting the need to honor all necessary safety measures to stop the spread of this nemesis, local Bernal artists also understood the need to uplift the community from the confines of their sheltering in place. Thus the Artists in Place: A Bernal Art Walk-By was born. On Saturday, June 27, 2020 artists in Bernal Heights displayed there artwork outside, in a socially distanced setting for neighbors to ‘walk-by’ and appreciate, critique and see their neighbors! I was delighted to participate and show works from my current series along with a selection of urban and rural landscapes from my studio.

VoteBlue Art and Music Walk
And on October 16, 2020 Bernal Artists and Musicians organized a VoteBlue fundraiser and get out the vote event. Our masked up neighbors were again invited out to enjoy some socially distanced art and music. My contribution was a series of hand painted window posters in exchange for contributions to Black Lives Matter, the Say Their Names Project or VoteBlue.
